Looking for ‘bigger’ smart phone? SenQ has started accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, offering at the price of RM1,699. Considering that it is the same price as the current Samsung Galaxy SIII (S3), this will be either a lot more interested users prefer much towards Galaxy SIII and only focus for those who looking for ‘bigger’ screen.
In term of specifications, the Galaxy Note 8.0 is quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note II with quad core 1.6 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with the expandable option using MicroSD. The 8inch display offers 1280×800 resolution with 190ppi. Front camera equipped with 1.9MP and 5.0MP rear without assisted flash. And oh, Galaxy Note 8.0 also comes with an Infrared port as well.
The special part of Galaxy Note 8.0 is that, it runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and comes with an S-Pen. With it’s 4,600mAh battery, only 338 grams of weight and thickness of 7.95 grams provides a friendly usage on hand.
Earlier this year Lenovo introduced two smartphones during CES 2013, and now, both of them; IdeaPhone S890 and IdeaPhone P770 has officially launched in Malaysia today.
Lenovo IdeaPhone S890 is designed and optimized for casual use, which includes a 5-inch sized screen with qHD display, 8-megapixel rear camera, dual-core processing chip 1.2Ghz, 2GB of memory RAM, and a 2550mAh capacity battery.
IdeaPhone Lenovo P770 is said to be focusing more on enterprise users, offer longer talk time over 3500mAh capacity battery. It brings the screen size 4.5-inch qHD, dual-core processing chip 1.2Ghz, 1GB of memory RAM, and a 5-megapixel rear camera.
Both devices are generated using Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and are now ready selling in Malaysia. IdeaPhone Lenovo S890 is priced at RM839, while Lenovo P770 is priced at RM739 respectively.
After it’s introduction three months ago, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini has already entered local market which recently offered by SenQ at only RM1199.
Bringing the popular name of Galaxy S3, the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini comes with the lower specification and features, with dual core 1GHZ processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.0-inch screen with 800×480 pixels resolution, 5-Megapixel back camera, 8GB of space with microSD support and a 1500mAh capacity battery.
No news yet available whether the official distributor of Samsung in Malaysia have started offering the device but more to come soon.
Nokia has now partners with China Mobile which is the largest telecommunications company in the world with over 700 million active customers in planning to bring their Nokia Lumia lineup into China market.
Up to 2011, Nokia was the most widely used brands of mobile phones in China. This however not long until Android phones get into it’s market share and lead the entire market together with Apple smartphones. By having this coorporation, Nokia aims to stand back aside with all of it’s competitors.
Before this, Apple has already done partnership with China Unicom and China Telecom, but the coorporation failed to dominate China mobile market due to the expensive price of iPhone.
Google Now is one of the latest Google invention, smart enough application which enable you to track your daily lives. Google has taken the step to expand it’s Google Now service beyond just for mobile devices, and am now providing it for a larger audience.
This feature however is not available to public yet but it is certainly good to know that Google is actively working on Google Now, and is definitely something interested to look into. More upcoming news when we have them.
Lately we seen the war between smartphones who aimed for larger screen display as the demand for larger screen is increasing. Apart from the existing Galaxy Note 2 which is popular in the arena of a device called phablet, now it looks like Huawei want to join the same market with their new 6.1-inch sized device.
Today, Huawei confirmed that they will be releasing up a new device, known as Huawei Ascend Mate which said to be available in the market early 2013 soon.
This device is said to come with 6.1 inch screen with 1080p HD display, 2GB of RAM, 4,000mAh capacity battery, and 1.8GHz processor chips. According to Huawei, the Ascend Mate will be price even cheaper compared with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 even the specification carries is higher.
In previous the Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars was only introduced for Windows Phone 8 users alone. Now, the developer of Angry Birds, Rovia finally updated their application with support for Windows Phone 7.5 users.
Both games have been updated and made available to Windows Phone 7.5 from marketplace starting today and are sold at the price of RM3 (US $0.99) respectively.
Angry Birds Space is the first game from Rovio which focus on space, requiring the user to take into account the gravitational attraction between each other, thus making them more creative. Angry Birds Star Wars however, integrates the various characters from the Star Wars movies are available in popularity, as well as give some extra power to the characters of Angry Birds game.

GoPro now introduced their new lineup for Hero – GoPro Hero3 HD, a rugged digital camera with 5MP lens for outdoor uses.
GoPro Hero3 HD is powered with 5MP lens which capable to give maximum resolution ip to 1440 x1080 pixels. It offers extendable MicroSD memory card slot, Lithium-Ion built-in rechargeable battery, USB 2.0, addition water proof outer shell housing which capable to support depth of 197 meters and of course, the new introduction of built in WiFi antenna. The WiFi function is to facilitate the use of camera in relation to an application facilitate this particular camera on smartphones.

Android owners who still do not have a Facebook account can now sign up for Facebook by just entering their name and phone number only upon signing up via Facebook Messenger application. After the completion of registration, it can send messages to Facebook friends immediately.
This enhancement was made and notified via Facebook News Room and will also be brought into Android device user in Malaysia.
Normally, you will need to have a Facebook account in order to use Facebook Messenger application. But with this new version, even a person who still do not have Facebook account can log into Facebook Messenger easily – even without need to validate email in advance during registration.

One of the most awaited services by the year 2013 is the new MegaUpload, after it’s shutdown by authorities early this year. MegaUpload founder, Kim DotCom posses his comeback with Mega.co.nz, the new MegaUpload.
Kim DotCom shares some few screenshots of main page, registration page and also file manager of the new Mega.co.nz. It seems that the page will be using 2048-bit encryption RS, and each user will have their own storage space which can be managed like any other cloud storage.
Since the site shutdown, many developments have been passed. According to the plan, Mega.co.nz will be unveiled to public by January 19, 2013 and perhaps more information will be shared together with the proximity of the launching date.
